Hello everyone!

It has been one week since we had our Berger Picard Club Canada national specialty near Ingleside at the Stormont Dundas & Glenngary Kennel Club annual outdoor dog show. We organizers are so thrilled with the turnout; from well-seasoned show dogs to baby puppies all came to participate in the many activities offered, support their peers and have fun. We are excited that people and their dogs came long distances, even crossing USA border for this event. Thank you so much for your participation.

Twenty four dogs participated in conformation and earned the following awards: Best Of Breed: Gotham De La Jassette Du Cap Del Mas, Best Of Opposite Sex:  GCh Mia Bella de l'Avocat de la Tour, Best Of Winner: Gotham De La Jassette Du Cap Del Mas, Best Puppy In Breed :  Orangerie De La Vie En Rose, Select Dog:  GCh Sketchbook's Leinenstone Mojito Mixer, Select Bitch: Belle Of Double D Ranch, Winners Dog: Gotham De La Jassette Du Cap Del Mas, Reserve Winners Dog: Napoleon De La Vie En Rose, Winners Bitch: Nonet Rose Ballad Of Xanadus Aria, Reserve Winners Bitch: Orangerie De La Vie En Rose, Best Veteran: Belle Of Double D Ranch, Best Baby Puppy In Breed: Picardiers Picture Perfect, Best of Breed (Altered): Izanne Aria De La Vie En Rose.  We were also extremely happy to see people who never had set foot in a show ring enter their Berger Picards in the “Best Expression “class. It was lovely to watch and to participate in that event. The Best Expression Male was awarded to Opus pour Barnabé Noble Picard and Best Expression Female to Opéra Rock d’Aglaé Noble Picard and the overall Best Expression went to Opus pour Barnabé Noble Picard.  Congratulations to all!

It was wonderful to see so many Berger Picard participating in performance events. A total of nine Berger Picards showed their talents in Barn Hunt, Scent Detection, Rally-O and Dog Tricks. Title were acquired and qualifying score were earned by: Noble Picard’s Take a Number, Naeda with a Novice tricks title, a HIC Rally Intermediary leg (93), a CKC Scent Instinct title and two Novice Scent components, Lucianne de la Picardie finished the weekend with a CKC Scent Instinct and Novice title, GCH MyEdan de la Vallée d’Ottawa completed his Novice tricks title and CKC Scent Instinct title, GCh Ekeko de la Vallée d’Ottawa took  home an Instinct title and a Novice Q in Scent Detection , Double D’s French Vanilla Bean, Gizmo finished with  her Instinct and Novice titles in CKC Scent Detection and a Q in Open as well as many points in Barn Hunt and CH Just Shine JajaBoo Noble Picard earned her Barn Hunt instinct title.  Team work was the key in all disciplines, congratulations for your wonderful team effort!

From the bottom of our heart we would like to thank everybody for their support. Everyone chipped in to help when needed and the atmosphere was so relaxed and friendly setting the tone for an easygoing and memorable event. Thank you again to all who participated in the raffle, bought items offered or made donations towards the Berger Picard health fund campaign. We raised 425$ which is a great step towards our goal 1000$ in the BPCC “Let’s see to It” fundraising campaign to help finance an important research project on ocular diseases conducted by the University of Missouri.

Until next time!
